A visit to Lismore Chiropractic
Initial Consultation
Prior to your first appointment you will be asked to fill in some history forms. The information provided by these forms will assist us in assessing the most appropriate treatment for your particular needs.
If it is your first visit you will need to allow about 40 minutes for your initial consultation. Please bring any recent x-rays and if you have any medical history that may relate to your visit then it is a good idea to bring a copy of it with you to save time. After the chiropractor has read over the forms you will be ushered to a treatment room. Initially the chiropractor will discuss the details of your complaint and will ask questions to see if chiropractic is suitable for your situation or if you need to be refered to another health professional.
Next is a physical examination. For this you will need to remove any bulky clothing or you may be asked to put on an examination gown to allow an accurate view of your posture and muscle tone. You will then be instructed to perform some tests to assist in the diagnosis of your complaint and an assessment of all your spine.
After the physical examination the chiropractor will discuss his findings with you and allow you to decide if you would like to proceed with chiropractic treatment. In some cases the chiropractor may require you to have x-rays taken prior to accepting you for treatment. X-rays are performed at North Coast Radiology Services at 16 Keen St Lismore and are covered by medicare. Not all patients will need x-rays, this is discussed at your consultation.
If you consent to treatment then you may be treated at your initial appointment if the chiropractor believes it is appropriate and if time allows, otherwise a follow up appointment will be scheduled and your first treatment performed at the later appointment. If a follow up appointment is required to provide the first treatment then it is free of charge.
An initial consultation will cost $85.
Standard Consultations
A standard consultation is an appointment following your initial treatment, it will last for between 15 - 20mins and will involve an assessment of your response to the previous treatment and further treatment if it is deemed necesssary by the Chiropractor.
Standard consultations are charged at $60 each.
